This by-invitation-only tasting and lunch will take place at 10:00am on the morning of April 24th at Robert Mondavi Winery in Oakville, Napa Valley. The Masterclass is followed by a seated lunch with our Oakville vintners, and the walk-around Grand Tasting tasting follows, with over 40 Oakville wineries pouring from 2:00pm to 4:30pm. This year's Masterclass panel will be moderated by Richard Mendelson, wine law attorney and author of the recently published book “Appellation Napa Valley.” Mr. Mendelson will share his vast knowledge of the creation of AVAs, and lead a discussion centering on the appellation (AVA) concept in Napa Valley, what these defined growing regions represent and why they are important. Panelists include Ren Harris, Co-Owner of Paradigm Winery, Michael Weis, Winemaker Emeritus of Groth Winery and Genevieve Janssens, Director of Winemaking at Robert Mondavi Winery. This class is designed for those in the wine trade as well as wine writers and education professionals and includes a tasting of eight current and library vintage wines.
